Peace Education Certificate

The Peace Education Certificate offers a core of courses on multicultural, global, and human rights education, conflict resolution, violence prevention, peace studies theory, and structural violence paradigms. It indicates to current and prospective employers that you have taken the initiative to develop knowledge about conflict resolution, diversity training, human rights education and have developed a multicultural and global worldview.

The Peace Education Certificate is a dual level graduate/undergraduate certificate which requires the completion of 21 quarter credit hours. It is available to unmatriculated students or can be incorporated into a degree program. It is readily incorporated into a graduate degree program in Educational Foundations. The Educational Foundations graduate programs are interdisciplinary programs that provide an opportunity to design a thoroughly integrated, yet versatile, degree.

Urban Education Certificate

The Urban Education Certificate will prepare teachers to meet the challenges and needs of urban school children. The incorporation of a focus on conflict resolution and violence prevention is a unique feature of this certificate. The certificate will prepare you to make a contribution in public education or any other career that keeps you in touch with the diverse U.S. population projected for the 21st century.

The Urban Education Certificate is readily incorporated into a graduate degree program in Educational Foundations.
